With Cloak of Summer, Robert Davies delivers yet another beauty of an album.. A summery masterpiece in my opinion.. Just within seconds of the first track you know it’s Davies, creating that familiar hazy, sizzling drone/(electric) piano-vibe with the beautiful fieldrecordings full of buzzing insects and other life in the great outdoors.. But again, this is different. Just like every album has it’s unique atmosphere.. I sense rather mystique, sort of ‘darker’ layers underneath. That doesn’t mean the tracks are less bright or ‘summery’ but I just hear some different layers and effects (sometimes even somewhat ‘spacy’..). Then from the track Of Hawthorn and Broom on we’re getting in my absolute favorite atmosphere: the sultry hazy summer, where I can smell the trees, the dry pine-needles and where nature is full of life.. No matter if you own other Davies-albums or none: check out this amazing, stunning album!! Summer’s here again.. Berkdrums

My favorite ambient album of the year. Corbancho has crafted textures both earthy and space-like, reflecting the mysteries and comforts of Life on this unique planet Leterren
